The Sound of Wind and Water Currents is a 3D graphic work that brings the endangered Jeju language to life. Recognized by UNESCO as an endangered language, Jeju dialect developed a unique way of expressing emotions due to its history and geography. It is categorized into five emotions—sadness, joy, surprise, anger, and love—visually represented through 3D graphics. Using VR and web platforms, users can easily and interactively experience Jeju language. Through this immersive experience, The Sound of Wind and Water Currents aims to keep Jeju language alive and remembered.
〈바람과 물살의 소리〉는 소멸위기 언어인 제주어를 3D 그래픽으로 표현한 작품입니다. 유네스코 지정 소멸위기 언어인 제주어는, 역사적, 지리적 특성으로 인한 투박한 감정표현이 발달했습니다. 슬픔, 기쁨, 놀라움, 분노, 사랑이라는 다섯 가지의 감정어로 분류하고, 특유의 시청각적 이미지를 3D 그래픽, VR, WEB 등 다매체를 통해 사용자가 쉽고 재미있게 제주어를 경험할 수 있도록 표현했습니다. 행동이 눈에 보이는 것만 같은 제주어의 매력, 〈바람과 물살의 소리〉가 주는 흥미로운 경험을 통해, 제주어가 오래도록 기억될 수 있기를 기대합니다.
